Waterstadstoren

2004 - Rotterdam - Structured concrete

Architect: HM Architecten / Client: Wilgenvastgoed ism ING Vastgoed / Contractor: Westo beton BV

For some time now, Loveld has almost a monopoly on supplying sandwich face elements for high-rise flats in Rotterdam. Next to the towers located at Zuidplein, the DWL tower, the 3 towers at the Boompjes and the Oostmolenwerf, the construction was assured of the two Hoge Heren at the Zalmhaven and the Waterstadtoren in the Wijnhavenkwartier around the turn of the century, and the years following. The Coopvaert and Wijnhaeve towers were built between 2005 and 2008 and several other towers have already been included in development.

The execution always varies: coarse structure mats, embedding bricks and using several different colours in the ornamental concrete are certainly not avoided. Frames and seam techniques are included at the factory, allowing assembly at a staggering speed, without scaffolding and with a complete finish.

Constructively speaking there are also some options: either the elements are fitted into an integral prefab system, or they are part of a tunnel mould that can be adjusted to guarantee optimal results.
