Architect: Buchanan Associates Architects / Client: Grange Hotels / Contractor: Grange Hotels
This project located in Central London – right in the Conservation Area around St. Pauls Cathedral, requiring the use of Portland limestone – is a fine example of contemporary use of a traditional material.
For the Grange St. Pauls Hotel building we used sandwich Precast window frames with off-site installed windows and aluminum rain screen cladding. The joints between the stones were left partially open for ventilation of the aluminum rain screen. To create the required double seal we combined our rubber “Deventer” gaskets with “couvraneuf” profiles.
