2005 - Rotterdam - Polished concrete

Architect: Diederik Dam van Dam en Partners Architecten / Client: Dura Vermeer / Contractor: Ballast Nedam Bouw BV

This prestigious office and residential complex was built at the heart of Rotterdam, on the corner of De Blaak and De Coolsingel, at the foot of “De vernielde Stad”, a masterpiece by the Dutch sculptor O. Zadkine.

Based on the design by architect Cees Dam, Loveld produced the sandwich face elements made from sanded and polished concrete. This high-rise building was constructed by the partnership of Dura and Ballast-Nedam. The shell of the building was created with a tunnel mould, while at the same time the face of the building was sealed with the prefab sandwich elements in a 5 day cycle. Waterproofing of the building was guaranteed by a Deventer rubber seam profile, fitted during the production process at the factory.
